The World Network of Biosphere Reserves

Diversity of geographical and social conditions in which the BRs operate, predetermine the MAB Program for the role of gathering of wide spectrum of ideas and experience. Know-how of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR) can help to evaluate issues and solve the problems of the landscape management on any level.

The World Network of Biosphere Reserves started to emerge as a part of the MAB Program in the 1970's. Today the WNBR consists of 701 biosphere reserves in 124 countries (as of 2020).
