Owls of the Lower Morava Biosphere Reserve

This publication was devoted to the diversity of owls we can encounter in the area of the Lower Morava BR. Out of the 13 European owl species, over half (a total of 7) occur in our area. Owls play an indispensable role in nature, even though their nocturnal existence often escapes our notice. Some owls belong to species which are disappearing from our landscape. The text briefly introduces the readers to some remarkable facts about their existence, introducing their typical environment and also outlining possibilities of how to protect and help owls.

The project was funded from a grant of Moravske naftove doly, a.s., under the “Energy from Nature” programme.
