Czech union for Nature Conservation

In 2012 the Ministry of Environment, due to its own system and organizational reasons, waived its founder status as well as all its positions in the BR bodies, therefore subsequent cooperation with the BR runs in the form of partneship.

In 2022 the Czech Union for Nature Conservation, waived its founder status.

The administrative bodies of the company are: management board, advisory board and director . The management structure is based on broad participation of major stakeholders of the biosphere reserve.

Management board:

The management board is nine-member BR governing body. It includes representatives of the company founders, representatives of the communities of the three regions covered by the BR, one representative of the farming community and one representative of Mendel university in Brno that also acts as the main scientific consultant of the BR.

Permanent guests of the BR Management Board:

By unanimous decision of all members of the BR Management Board, Mr. Stanislav Koukal, Director of the South Moravia Regional Administration of the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic, has been designated as a permanent guest of the Board since 2012. As of 2022 also Mr. Libor Opluštil, Chairman of the Břeclav Chapter of the Czech Union for Nature Conservation, participates on the BR management as permanent guest.

Advisory board:

The advisory board is six-member supervisory body. It includes representatives of the company founders, one mutual representative of the communities of the three regions covered by the BR and one representative of the Mendel university.
